At the mouth of the river, the Frankland Islands slowly come into view and it is only a short open water crossing to our destination for the day – Frankland Islands.
Frankland Islands is the perfect location for snorkellers to drift over the amazing variety of corals and marine life that inhabit the area, including fish, sea turtles and octopus. Divers are able to discover the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef with a certified or introductory dive (optional extra).
A tropical buffet lunch is served on the island and the menu is catered by a local organisation, providing a choice of several salads, chicken, cheese, ham, prawns and an abundance of cut fruits. The day is yours to enjoy as you wish. You have a variety of optional tours to enjoy - otherwise snorkel, discover and simply relax on the pristine white beach and enjoy the serenity and beauty of the island paradise. This is a ‘Must Do’ experience when visiting Port Douglas, Cairns, Daintree and Far North Queensland on your Great Barrier Reef Holiday.
You will arrive at Low Isles in only 15 minutes. This trip caters for those people looking for a true Reef Experience without spending all day getting there. You won’t even have time to get seasick on this exhilarating ride to the Barrier Reef. Passenger numbers are limited to 14 to ensure comfort.
Snorkel the pristine waters of Low Isles. This World Heritage reef site is very protected, with its vast coral gardens teeming with marine life including green turtles swimming nearby in the Coral Sea. Low Isles, named by Captain Cook in 1770, is the ideal location for snorkelers with its surrounding acres of coral reef. The vessel has an easy reboarding platform, large shady roof, 500hp environmentally friendly power, and an onboard rest room. Comfortable seating and dry storage are a given.
Departing Port Douglas three times per day – 9:00am, 12:00 noon and 3:00pm. Duration of each trip is approximately 2¼ hours which allows 1½ hours of snorkelling time. Wet suits, stingers suits and snorkelling equipment are included in the rate.

This is a ‘Must Do’ experience when visiting Port Douglas, Cairns, Daintree and Far North Queensland on your Great Barrier Reef Holiday.
You will arrive at Low Isles in only 15 minutes. This trip caters for those people looking for a true Reef Experience without spending all day getting there. You won’t even have time to get seasick on this exhilarating ride to the Barrier Reef. Passenger numbers are limited to 14 to ensure comfort.
Snorkel the pristine waters of Low Isles. This World Heritage reef site is very protected, with its vast coral gardens teeming with marine life including green turtles swimming nearby in the Coral Sea. Low Isles, named by Captain Cook in 1770, is the ideal location for snorkelers with its surrounding acres of coral reef. The vessel has an easy reboarding platform, large shady roof, 500hp environmentally friendly power, and an onboard rest room. Comfortable seating and dry storage are a given.
Departing Port Douglas three times per day – 9:00am, 12:00 noon and 3:00pm. Duration of each trip is approximately 2¼ hours which allows 1½ hours of snorkelling time. Wet suits, stingers suits and snorkelling equipment are included in the rate.
