OceanQuest is a 36 metre catamaran over 3 decks. With 4 double suites, 18 twin share and 1 quad share cabin, the vessel has the capacity to sleep 48 passengers overnight on the reef in unrivalled comfort and luxury. All rooms have en-suite facilities, air-conditioning, as well as TV’s. There is a large lounge area on the wheelhouse deck with a bar where you can relax and kick back after a long days diving. The main deck has a large dining room capable of comfortably seating 48 passengers.
The company has 14 permanent moorings on the Outer Barrier Reef (including Norman and Saxon Reefs) which ensures minimal damage to the pristine coral formations. These dive sites are frequented by myriads of tropical fish and include the ever popular Maori Wrasse, who are always diver friendly. As well as deep bommies and swim-throughs for the experiencewd diver. Sites such as Student Bommie with a maximum depth of 12m have a sandy bottom, excfellent coral cover and a diverse array of marine life.
Shark Alley is renowed for sightings of black tip & white tip reef sharks, grey reef whaler sharks, giant trevally, and pygmy manta rays (Oct-Dec).
Wheeler Reef is an excellent location for diving with large schools of pelagic species, as well as macro species such as the ghost pipe fish.
